It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
It's fair to say that in years gone by Christmas was not my most favourite time of the year. As a young adult I tried so hard to "get Xmas right". Traditional dinners, the perfect presents, making sure everyone had a drink of exactly their favourite kind of tipple. The list was endless and exhausting. Until I learnt the trick, the spirit of Christmas has to start with you. If you don't also treat yourself then its really hard to treat others. You can't pour from an empty Ace of Cups.
For some people filling that Ace of Cups might mean a spa day before the big event on the 25th. For others it might mean that on Christmas morning the family cooks breakfast so that you can get on with the lunch preparation. Or just a lie in, oh how I used to dream of a lie-in on Xmas morning when my daughter was little, but for many of us one of the biggest treats you can have is to take some time out with a beloved deck, set of runes, bones or oracle cards. You could even use those cards to help plan the big day and get some guidance on how to divert the inevitable post dinner row between Uncle George and Auntie Norma who just never get on once the sherry has been opened!
I never stop being surprised in how many ways you can use the cards to inform your day, your week, your month, your year and even your Xmas dinner!
